About

What is IU Corps?

Imagine the personal transformation that can happen when you take part in a truly meaningful volunteer- or service-based experience, whether it spans an afternoon or a semester. For decades, IU students, faculty, staff, and community partners have taken part in such work in Bloomington, throughout the state and the nation, and all over the world.

IU Corps brings together IU’s collective, varied service efforts under one umbrella to help address the world’s most pressing challenges and meet its most critical needs. IU Corps can be a starting point for students who want to learn about service and volunteer options and a gateway for community partners who want to work with IU students and classes.

Our Mission

To help IU Bloomington students become engaged, productive, and responsible members of society. To accomplish this, we:

  • make it easier for IU students to discover and get involved in a cause they care about.
  • work closely with our campus and community partners to expand the reach of student engagement opportunities, an umbrella term for service- and volunteer-related courses, experiences, internships, and research.
  • provide education, resources, and support to students and our campus and community partners.
Looking for a service opportunity or a way to connect? Want to learn more about us? We’ve got it! IU Corps regularly hosts a variety of events throughout the year, and we’re proud to support the programs hosted by other organizations around the community. With a wide range of opportunities and activities, there’s sure to be something for you.
