Spring 2026 START Projects:
Community Partner: Boys and Girls Club (BGCB)
Project: Data Analysis
- The Boys and Girls Club (BGCB) offers an after-school tutoring program. The Tutoring Program has a wealth of data from pre and post assessments that need to be distilled into understandable charts and graphs for board members, donors, and families to understand quickly and easily. The data needs to be analyzed and transformed into easily digestible data that tells the story of the impact of the tutoring program.
- Will need to work in connection with the Tutoring Skills Team, sharing data as needed

Community Partner: Hoosier Asian American Power
Project: Hoosier Asian Civic Engagement Research and Promotion
- In our policy advocacy and community outreach, we find that the Asian American population in Indiana is frequently overlooked and misunderstood. Elected officials, community leaders, and members of the general public often do not know anything about the history and current needs and experiences of Asian Americans who live in Indiana, nor do they know about the rich ethnic, religious, linguistic, and geographic diversity of Asian American communities. Hoosier Asian American Power hopes to educate about Asian American needs while also helping Asian Americans find the resources, they need from services to civic engagement. This is a two-fold project. First, START interns will research to compile needed data. Second, turn the data into a long and short infographic to be shared with officials, community members, and Hoosier Asian Americans.

Community Partner: Wheeler Mission
Project: Strategic Marketing
- The Wheeler Mission needs a broad marketing plan for the entirety of their operations inside the greater Bloomington community. The plan will need to include research into the community in order to assess the audience of Bloomington. Wheeler would also like assistance with their social media strategy. This plan should also work to help Wheeler shift to a younger audience and donor pool. This plan should help express where Wheeler can best invest their time, talents, and treasures.
