No car? No problem: interactive map helps students get to volunteer opportunities

By: IU Corps

Thursday, February 20, 2020

Sometimes, the only barrier between a student and a volunteer experience is transportation. Indiana University Bloomington’s IU Corps has created a new interactive map to help students navigate to local nonprofits, all through Bloomington bus routes.
Students can customize searches by bus route and filter opportunities by agency type using categories that include arts and humanities, social/benefit, membership, international, health, environmental/animal, and education.

IU Corps was created in response to the Bicentennial Strategic Plan for IU Bloomington, and it officially launched at IU Bloomington in March 2018. In January 2019, IU Corps announced the IU Corps Volunteer Central database to make service and volunteer opportunities more visible to IU students and the nonprofit agencies served by or seeking to connect with the student body.
