Writing & Special Projects Intern
Job description: The Writing & Special Projects Intern in the IU Office of the Provost and Executive Vice President will schedule and conduct interviews and write compelling articles and social media posts primarily focused on IU Corps experiences (IU student service and volunteerism).
Desired: Graphic design skills, social media prowess, the ability to write a captivating story lead, and familiarity with Associated Press style are a plus, as is an interest in helping capture campus stories through the Stories from Home mobile podcasting studio.
Necessary: excellent time management skills, weekend and evening availability, the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and to gracefully take direction and edits, as well as the ability to work independently and exercise good judgment. Must check email frequently and respond as soon as possible on availability for assignments as they arise.
Qualifications: Strong candidates will demonstrate a proficiency in writing well-crafted, audience-specific stories and posts; the ability to professionally interact with IU administrators, faculty, staff, and students; and attention to detail and deadlines.
